Four historical events happened in Israel. 1) The six day war in 1967. 2) The reunification of Jerusalem. 3) The signing of the peace accord with Egypt. 4) The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Israel's population before WWII was 5,818,000. Israel's population after WWII was 5,907,500. The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp still exists today in Poland. Some significant events that have taken place in Israel are the six day war, the UN partition plan, and Israeli independence. People in Israel have Seders and tell stories of the exodus from Egypt. Passover is when we remember when we got our freedom from Egypt. Four Jewish recipes from Israel are Traditional Kreplach Soup, Jewish Beet and Cabbage Borscht, Israeli Orange Soup, and the fourth is a Passover recipe, Passover Homemade Gefilte Fish.

Yield: 6 bourekas
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
7 ounces fresh spinach leaves
Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 egg, separated
3 ounces crumbled feta
12 ounces frozen puff pastry, defrosted
Za’atar (optional)
